"... to establish and maintain residential programs that make real and effective the presence of Christ and his church to those served."
Philosophy

Catholic Residential Services, a service ministry agency of the Diocese of La Crosse, is committed to the mission of the Roman Catholic Church and dedicated to the care of the sick, elderly, and those in need.

The primary motive of our ministry of service is to reveal and embody Christ’s healing love for all people. The distinguishing quality of this service is to demonstrate a real and effective presence of Christ and His Church to those served.

We believe:

Every person is created in the image of God and therefore has an intrinsic dignity and value. Every human life is a gift from God, which must be respected, preserved with care, and supported from the moment of conception until natural death.

Those who join together to render care are part of a community. Leaders strive to create a caring climate that emphasizes hospitality and reflects the Gospel virtues of love, justice, service, and compassion. These qualities shape the relationships between those who are serving and those who are served.

Quality service requires a level of excellence, which reflects the biblical vision of health as wholeness and is, therefore, directed to the whole person, body, mind and spirit.

Sensitivity to individual religious beliefs and spiritual needs is an essential factor in the care of human beings, in the concern for their families and in the development of our employees.

Catholic standards of medical and social ethics safeguard our principles and must guide our actions. Consequently, we adhere to the moral and medical teachings of the Church as given by the Bishop of La Crosse and the National Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Educational programs for residents, families, employees and the community-at-large will promote personal and professional growth consistent with the Ethical and Religious Directives approved by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops and the United States Catholic Conference. We will create an environment, which emphasizes “healing as Jesus healed.”
